The parallels of the West Coast of America and Western Australia

I had a layover in Perth for a few hours so I extended it a couple days to see the city and experience life down under. I found that Perth was much like many Northwest cities I have visited in the U.S., specifically Vancouver and Seattle - maybe it was the light mist and smog that controlled the first day of my trip. I reckon it would be a great place to spend the latter years of my life just maxin and relaxin.

I had a busy day exploring the city and hiking the many trails. That night I tried “goon” for the first time with my fellow backpackers and partied on the beach until the wee hours of the morning (goon is cheap, boxed wine – eeekk). Then I spent the next day at the beach to top off my tan before going to chilly Melbourne.

It was a great introduction to Australia. I had a nice, relaxing, bodacious time.
